I was fasting today for Hartalika. I have been fasting since I was a kid as it is believed that if the unmarried girls fast for hartalika then they get a really nice, loving and caring husband.
( I already have got mine ;) ). Married woman's keep this fast so that they can have the same husband for their next 7 lives. When my mom was young she used to observe this fast by worshiping shiv-parvati, wearing new clothes and staying awake till midnight. Now-a- days we just worship shiv-parvati and wear new clothes.

You can eat sabudana khichadi (recipe forthcoming), potatoes and fruits. You can also have milk, fruit juices or tea.
I just had tea in the morning and kept drinking water the entire day. I was also having a busy day so did not even get a chance to step out of work and grab some fruits or juice :( The moment I left from work I knew what I was eating tonite...
