Ingredients:
- 2 onions, vertically chopped
- 1/4 cup onions, finely chopped
- 2 tomato, puree
- 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
- 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp red chilli powder
- 1 tsp kaala masala
- 1/4 cup coriander leaves
- coriander leaves for garnishing
- 2 tbsp Oil + 1 tbsp
Marination:
- 1.5 lb chicken
- 2 tbsp yogurt
- 1 tbsp ginger garlic coriander paste
Method:
- Take all the ingredients under Marination in a bowl and marinate the chicken for an hour or so.
- Heat oil in a pan. Once oil is heated add the vertically chopped onions and fry till golden brown. Now add the tomato puree and the ginger garlic paste. Mix it well.
- Cook this mixture on low flame for 10-12 min. Let it cool down. Grind this to a smooth paste along with few coriander leaves. Keep it aside.
- Now in the same pan add one tablespoon of oil. Add the finely chopped onions. Fry it till golden brown.
- Now add the marinated chicken and mix well. Cover the pan and cook this mixture till chicken is nicely soft and tender.
- Now add all the spices-turmeric powder, red chilli powder, kaala masala and salt. Mix it well.
- Add the grinded mixture. Mix it well so that the chicken gets a nice coating of the spices. Add 2-4 cups of water. Cover the pan with lid and cook it on a low flame till it comes to boil.
- Chicken Curry is ready to serve. Garnish it with coriander leaves before serving.
- Serve with roti, bhakri or rice.
