Ratalyache Kaap

Ratalyache Kaap is a Sweet Potato dessert made with sugar and butter (ghee). Its a quick recipe and a good food option during fasting days such as Hartalika, Mahashivratri, Navratri etc. Yesterday for Mahashivratri, I decided to make Ratalyache Kaap using mom's recipe along with Rajgeera thalipeeth which turned out pretty good :)
Ratalyache Kaap
Ingredients:
  • 2-3 Sweet Potatoes or 1 cup Sweet Potatoes, washed and cut into thin slices
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tsp cardamom powder
  • 1 tsp nutmeg powder
Method:
  • Wash and pat dry the potatoes. Cut into thin slices.
  • Heat ghee in a pan. Add thin slices of sweet potatoes and sugar. Mix them well and cover the pan with lid.
  • Cook it on low flame stirring occasionally. Sweet Potatoes will be soft and tender when cooked.
  • Sprinkle the cardamom and nutmeg powder once cooked. Mix Well.
  • Ratalyache Kaap are ready to serve.
