Raita

Raita is a refreshing side dish made with yogurt and goes well with any Biryani. I always make raita as a side dish when cooking chicken curry or and kind of Pulav or Biryani. Raita has a cooling effect and balances the spicy Indian food. This is my favorite raita which I often make with chicken curry or chicken biryani.

Raita

Ingredients:
  • 1 cucumber
  • 1 tomato
  • 1 onion
  • 2 green chillies
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • pinch of salt
  • pinch of sugar
  • 1/4 cup coriander leaves
  • 2 cups yogurt
 Method:
  • Peel the cucumber skin and finely chop the cucumber. Finely chop the tomato, onion and green chillies. Mix well and keep aside
  • Add the yogurt in a bowl along with salt, sugar and black pepper. Beat well until it becomes smooth paste. 
  • Now add the chopped cucumber-tomato mixture. Mix well
  • Garnish with coriander leaves and black pepper.
  • Serve with pulav or biryani.
