My sister is here with us for couple of weeks as she is having her winter break from her school. She recently moved to US and still adapting herself to the food and weather over here. As we all miss the street food in India so does she and was craving for some chaat. I decided to make Sev Dahi Batata Puri, Ragda Patties and Sev Puri for three nights in a row. I made plenty of tamarind and coriander-mint chutney and stored them in refrigerator so that I can use them for other chaat dishes as well.
Ingredients:
Method:
Sev Dahi Batata Puri |
- 1 pack puffed puri
- 1 cup fine sev
- 1 large potato, boiled and mashed
- 1 onion finely chopped
- 1/2 cup chopped coriander
- 1 tsp red chilli powder
- 1 tsp chaat masala
- 1 cup coriander chutney
- 1 cup tamarind chutney
- 1 cup yogurt
- 1 tsp roasted cumin powder
- 1 tsp sugar
- pinch of salt
Method:
- Arrange the puffed puris in the plate. Make a hole or opening on the top so that you can fill the puris with potatoes and the chutneys.
- Now stuff the mashed potatoes in the puri followed by little onion.
- Sprinkle some red chilli powder, chaat masala and salt.
- Top it up with the coriander and tamrind chutney.
- Whisk yogurt with pinch of salt, sugar and roasted cumin powder.
- Now add this yogurt on top of the puri.
- Sprinkle some sev and coriander leaves.
- Your Dahi Batata Puri is ready to serve.
